Chlorella supplements for health and wellbeing

Chlorella supplements can be taken as powder, pills, liquid, capsule, and chewable.

Just like for many other types of supplements it’s better to buy organic and non Non-GMO whenever possible.

You can find various Chlorella supplements on amazon:

Some people have suggested using Chlorella as a source of protein and other nutrients to feed a growing world population.[1] Others have suggested it as an alternative and renewable fuel source for agricultural equipment. In the United States, however, it is mostly used in tablet, powder, or liquid form as a dietary supplement.

  • Chlorella is an abundant source of Vitamin D- An excellent source of Active B12, the kind of B12 humans can digest
  • Promotes digestive health: contains Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF), a unique DNA and RNA complex that provides the building blocks cells need to rebuild, repair and rejuvenate
  • In addition to antioxidant vitamins and minerals, Chlorella also contains small amounts of the essential fatty acids, Omega-3 and Omega-6
  • May help support cholesterol and blood glucose levels already in the normal range

The entire process, from master care in the laboratory to harvesting the end product, is monitored by microbiologists to ensure optimal nutritional value and product purity. In Japan, Chlorella is by far the most popular dietary supplement with over seven million daily consumers. Most users feel the real benefit of chlorella when they take it daily for two to three months. As a source of assimilable essential nutrients, Chlorella has few, if any, peers. [1]

Rich in clorophyll

Chlorella is a green algae that, like its cousin Spirulina, is rich in chlorophyll. The benefits of Chlorella include detoxification through heavy metals and conventional cancer treatments, strengthening the immune system and skin health, supporting weight loss, lowering blood sugar and cholesterol levels and fighting cancer. [2]Chlorella powder and spirulina powder can be easily added to any smoothie recipe.

Chlorophyll, Spirulina and Chlorella preparations are available in powder, tablet or liquid form. Chlorella and Spirulina are both algae that contain chlorophyll and contain additional nutrients. Chlorophyll preparations are a concentrated method to take advantage of chlorophyll.

Chlorella is a light green algae used as a dietary supplement in Japan and as a dietary supplement in the West.Chlorella is also rich in iron, fiber, B vitamins, complex carbohydrates, polyunsaturated fats and antioxidants like lutein and vitamin C. Despite the efforts to harvest chlorella at the production level, the cost was enormous. [3]

The two best studied and most promising types of algae for human consumption are spirulina and chlorella. While they are often mentioned in the same breath, they do day and night in your body. Spirulina is particularly energy efficient because it has no cell wall.Digestion takes little time and is therefore an immediate source of vitamins and proteins.

While most Americans may not have heard of Chlorella, many people have been taking Spirulina for years. They are both water-based organisms, but they are very different at the cellular level. Chlorophyll is the green pigment in spirulina, chlorella and all green plants.[4]

The taste of chlorella is similar to green tea or green vegetable juice. Chlorella can be taken with or without food. You can take Chlorella with a meal, or in a smoothie .

Because Chlorella affects the immune system, it may not be suitable for people with immunodeficiency or for taking immune system medication.

Researchers from Shahrekord University in Iran looked at 19 chlorella supplementation studies that were conducted before January 2017.The main focus was on how Chlorella affects blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, body mass index (BMI) and lipid profile, as these four factors are common and have a dramatic impact on your cardiovascular risk.[4] A total of 797 participants took part, mainly from Japan, but also some from Iran and Korea, with a number of health problems. [5] Food Science focused on the bioactive compounds in Chlorella that can optimize fat metabolism.[5]

The design of the current study did not allow direct determination of cholesterol absorption.[6] When all the results are considered together, it can be assumed that the inhibition of intestinal lipid absorption caused the changes in the serum lipid profile observed in the Chlorella group. Chlorella offers a wide range of nutrients and phytochemicals that work together synergistically to optimize fat metabolism.[6]

Skin care benefits

Chlorella powder can promote younger looking skin due to its high levels of antioxidants. Research results published in the Clinical Laboratory show that chlorella can significantly improve antioxidant status and reduce oxidative stress.Excessive oxidative stress is associated with premature aging and is therefore important for the skin and general health.[7]

Side effects of chlorella include:

  • Allergic reactions, including asthma and other breathing problems.
  • Skin sensitivity to sunlight
  • Diarrhea.
  • Nausea.
  • Gas
  • Green discoloration of the stools.
  • Stomach cramping
